Lifewater’s international partners are the most important
component of Lifewater’s strategy for sustainable development. They are indigenous groups committed
to helping their communities through providing access to safe
water, improved health, and the knowledge of Jesus’ love. Lifewater’s
international partners are the groups drilling wells in villages,
helping to construct latrines at schools, providing training
to mothers and teachers in hygienic practices, and sharing
the love of Jesus. They are able to help communities mobilize
and receive life-saving services and skills from their own
people and in their own language. Lifewater’s partner
organizations are a permanent and effective force for change
in their communities and nations.
Because Lifewater invests so much time, knowledge, and resources
in its international partners, our relationships with them
are long-term and carefully cultivated. Every international
partner organization has been through an involved application
process and goes through months of assessment and dialogue
before forming an official partnership with Lifewater. After
the partnership is formed, Lifewater and the partner continue
a relationship based on empowerment, trust, and mutual respect
for several years. Lifewater sends Field
Trainers
to help train the partners in the WASH (Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene) programs. Lifewater
project staff also work with the partners to ensure they have
the appropriate materials for their work and accessible mechanisms
for reporting. The end result is empowered, independent
organization capable of serving the needs of its community
for generations.
Representatives of Lifewater’s international partner
organizations can be found at our annual conferences,
learning alongside our volunteers and supporters! It is truly
an honor to work with these amazing individuals.
